Saulin sets Salem CC women’s cross country record in season-opening meet at West Chester; includes all the non-football action from Friday’s Salem County sports calendar

WEST CHESTER, Pa. — Isabelle Saulin ran the fastest time in Salem CC women’s cross country history Friday when she led the Mighty Oaks across the line in the West Chester Season Opener.
While the official women’s race results are pending, Saulin, a freshman from Pennsville, ran a 28:52.9 over the 5000-meter course. The previous school record was 32:15.50, set by Chantelle Haskie last year in the Mighty Oaks’ return to the sport. The standing mark at the time was Emily McGlamery’s 2019 time of 32:24.60.
George Nelson was fastest among the Salem CC men, running a 26:00.0.
“It was the first time in SCC history cross country has two full teams competing,” coach Ashley Johnson said. “This course is the toughest course they will see all season. It was a great experience.”
